I’m actually in Sacramento, CA this weekend attending the Straine University Practice Perfect Seminar. We are learning the building blocks of highly effective practices.
Friday morning, we talked about communication. We learned that in any face-to-face communication words only account for 7%, tone of voice accounts for 38%, and body language accounts for 55%. We learned how important it is to know how to read facial expressions and body language; and talked about the language of speech and touch.
Friday afternoon, we talked about behavior styles and about ways to best relate to people who have different styles. We learned the strengths and weaknesses of each behavior stlye and about how we can make everyone feel comfortable in our office.
This morning, we’re talking about mission and vision statements and performance management.
We’re excited to come home on Sunday and use what we have learned to make our practice better!
