Dr. Harris, I have a cracked tooth!

A cracked tooth can be tricky because you may or may not feel pain; and the crack  might not even show up on an x-ray. We will definitely want to see you to determine if the tooth is definintely cracked.

A cracked tooth can be a result of chewing hard foods, grinding your teeth, uneven chewing pressure, loss of tooth structure through large fillings or root canals, or exposure of tooth enamel to extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Treatment could include a root canal, a crown, or an extraction depending on where the crack is located and how severe it is.
